Sample KNM scenario
- Situation: You move to another municipality. Question: What should you do? Correct answer: Report your new address to the gemeente.
- KNM practice is about recognising the normal practical action, not only memorising words.
A simple KNM routine
- Find the topic: health, work, school, housing, money, or gemeente.
- Choose the right contact: huisarts, apotheek, employer, school, landlord, or gemeente.
- Pick the normal first action: report, call, make an appointment, or ask the responsible person.
- Review the pattern after each wrong answer so similar situations become familiar.
Common KNM mistakes
- Choosing a friendly answer instead of the official or practical first step.
- Calling the wrong organisation first, such as hospital before huisarts for non-urgent problems.
- Waiting when you should report something early, such as sickness, moving, or payment problems.
- Memorising isolated facts without connecting them to realistic Dutch society scenarios.
